A Vibrant Winter Wedding at the Wythe
As both a New York City wedding planner and a lover of chocolate, I was so happy to plan and coordinate this colorful couple's intimate wedding at the Penthouse Loft at the Wythe Hotel. Lee Ramsay Events is a preferred vendor at The Wythe, and it's one of our favorite venues in the five boroughs!
After It All Photography
With just 35 beloved guests in attendance, this couple’s most important friends and family gathered for a vibrant micro-wedding.
This couple prioritized two elements when planning their celebration: desserts, and color! This fun duo lives a colorful life, so we created a “winter rainbow” color palette for the evening. We also brought in several of their favorite desserts - more on that later!
Against the iconic backdrop of the Brooklyn skyline, the rooftop ceremony was held beneath a breathtaking chuppah made with the rich hues of fall foliage and vibrant, rainbow florals crafted by Ephemera. Just before the couple went to exchange vows, the winter air picked up and we made the call to finish the ceremony inside - we needed to keep grandma comfortable!
Guests then transitioned into a delightful cocktail hour with a full seafood tower, signature drinks, and passed appetizers. Knowing that attendees hailed from various corners of the globe, we provided conversation cards to encourage connections and foster meaningful conversations among friends and family.
In a nod to the couple's shared passion for all things chocolate, we curated a unique alternative to the traditional guest book. A beautifully crafted book on the art of chocolate served as a canvas for guests to leave their well-wishes, accompanied by Polaroid snapshots capturing moments from the day.
Descending into the cellar for dinner, guests were greeted with hand-calligraphed, rainbow name cards at their place setting, along with three bars of the couple's favorite chocolates — a thoughtful touch that doubled as a wedding favor.
Against the backdrop of soft candlelight, guests shared a family-style meal, sharing laughter and creating cherished memories around the table.
Of course, there was cake - but not just any cake. The couple cut a rainbow sprinkle ice cream cake from Davey's Ice Cream. As the night continued, guests made their way back to the penthouse, where they were greeted with an array of sweet treats, including more ice cream, candies, and cookies from the local favorite, Ovenly.
This sweet wedding ultimately had to come to an end, but guests and the couple left on a (sugar) high - with photos and memories to cherish for years after the rush wears off.
